Today's Weigh In

This morning I weighed myself. 188! I lost 3.5 lbs in 10 days. Only 4 more pounds and my grand total will be 60 lbs (my third major goal and Hawaii is the reward)! I think I can loose 4 lbs before our trip in December.
I used to think that 60 lbs would be a great goal and be done, I also thought it would be pretty impossible, but now that I am so close I know I need to lose more and I know I can. I think another 20 would be great.
Curtis likes having a skinny wife. =) I like going to any store and being able to try on clothes, things in the junior section are even starting to fit.
I love my fruits and veggies! And I love what they are doing to me! I would suggest to anyone to move their veggie servings to the base of the food pyramid, we would all be so much healthier.

Update

Wow, I thought I had updated a little while ago, but I guess I didn't.
I am still losing weight, though it has slowed down some, a steady 1.5 lbs every week or so, not too shabby.

I have started exercising more to help with the process. I had been dealing with so much fatigue before that it felt impossible, but now I am really feeling great.
I have been able to workout and still do house chores and not need to go to bed at 9:00!

This morning I weighed myself and I am 199! I am so excited to be under 200! Granted that is before breakfast without my pants on, but hey, I'll take it!

I would love to lose another 15-25 lbs before our trip to Hawaii in December, I know I can do it if I put my mind to it.

My high calorie foods are olives, almonds, popcorn with agave and coconut oil (tastes like kettle corn, mmm!), grawnola, and sometimes dried fruit and avocados. I easily go over board with these, so I just need to watch myself and keep up my motivation to exercise.

I wish I had a good current picture of me, but I usually don't like how they turn out. I think this pic shows off my thinner face:
And here's a pic of my kids enjoying my kettle corn on a painting day:

On my way...

to health that is!

I do have to brag that I got three awards at Weight Watchers this week. I got my 16th week award, my 10% award and my 25 pounds award!

I feel like my results are starting to show too. Curtis keeps saying my face looks thinner and ladies in the ward are starting to notice. I am starting to fit into clothes that I wore before Nathan was born. I may have to ask my sister Becca to give me back my favorite pair of jeans. =)

I have decided to stop Weight Watcher though. I have had good success with it, but my new diet restrictions make it kind of pointless.

I have still been learning a lot about diet to help MS, but have also learned about eating raw. I had never thought of this option before. It follows along with the MS diet, except for the fact that everything is raw. There are so many health benefits to this. I am really excited about learning more about doing this.

I am confident that I can continue eating with these new guidelines and therefore confident that I can continue to loose weight. I have even made some delicious coconut chocolate balls, all raw! Mmm, mmm!

More Progress...

I weighed in yesterday and have lost a total of 17.6 lbs! I am only 2 1/2 pounds away from my first goal! I did finally decide what I will reward myself with when I reach my first 20 lb goal. A massage! Doesn't that sound nice! I am so excited.

My diet has changed some. I am still doing Weight Watchers and trying to keep track of points, but now with my MS diagnosis I have learned that not eating several foods will really help to reduce attacks, or relapses or episodes, whatever you want to call them.

No gluten, no legumes (including peanuts, green beans and peas), no dairy and no sugar. Yes that doesn't leave much: Lean meats, fruits, veggies (except for tomatoes, potatoes, and corn) and nuts and seeds. I will also be doing a Standard Process Cleanse soon and I am looking at Candida over growth solutions too. Lots to learn!

I have exercised everyday so far this week! I know it is only Wednesday, but that is good for me. I am told if you don't use it you loose it, so I am gonna use it! I also need 30 minutes of sunshine a day: Morning walk here I come!

Whoa!

I was really busy this week, my sister Becca was in town, I had a large order for Buzz About Baby, and I helped my sister Alaura move back from college (she lived on the third floor and filled the Sienna and the Scion with all her stuff!), so I didn't have time to go to a meeting until this morning. I was shocked when the scale read 230.6! That's a 5.6 lb loss in a week and a half, a lot more than I expected.

Total loss: 11.8 lbs (just shy of 5% of my weight!)

I got my second gold sticker, it's funny how a little sticker can make you feel good. =)
I know not to expect that type of a loss next week or even ever again, but it was a good surprise, maybe it pays to be busy.

I still haven't decided what to do when I reach my first 20lb goal. I'm more than half way there, so I need to figure it out.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers has been going quite well actually. I have a certain number of points each day (currently 31) and with those points they include some guidelines: 5 fruits and vegetables, 2 dairy, 2 healthy oils, 6 liquids and 2 lean proteins, along with my vitamins and whole grains.

A lot of people have commented about how hard it is to stick to their allotted points the first week, but I have felt quite satisfied. I know it is about the choices. I eat an apple for 2 points instead of a mini snickers bar for 2 points.

I have lost almost 4 pounds in 2 weeks. I hope this progress continues.

I have decided to reward myself when I reach my three 20 pound goals.
First 20 lbs: to be determined, any ideas?
Second 2o lbs: Get a sitter and rent a hotel room where Curtis and I stayed after we got married (with a whirlpool)
Third 20 lbs, when I reach my goal weight...drum roll please.....
Curtis is going to take me to Hawaii!! He agreed with it so I'm going to make him stick to it! =)

I really need to start exercising. I know it will help me loose weight and keep my muscle and have more energy, I am just having a really hard time fitting it in, but I will cause I need to.

Last weigh in: April 11th 238.6 lbs
Down: 3.8 lbs

I am trying to hide my chubby face from the camera, not realizing Curtis is getting my torso too. I can't wait to be ok with getting my picture taken.

Still here...

My slenderization has kind of been put on hold the past couple of weeks with the move and all. I have been packing, unpacking, painting, moving furniture, sanding, and organizing and I feel like I have been eating less, but I guess not too healthily. Even with all that work I managed to gain another 5 pounds. I think I have a gift for gaining weight. =) Anyone want me to give it to them? I don't want it anymore. ;)

I have had a health scare recently, maybe more like a health awakening. Last Saturday I noticed that my left eye was blurry. To make a long story short, I most likely have optic neuritis, the same thing my aunt got in college and 10-15 years later was diagnosed with MS. They are linked, but it is not a definite sentence, about 50% of people who get optic neuritis will end up with MS. I could undergo expensive testing to find out if I already have MS, even though I have no other symptoms, but it may not show up now and still show up many years down the road. Basically, the healthier you are the slower the disease will progress, so now being healthy is more than just about losing weight.

I have decided to do Weight Watchers because they teach you to live a healthy lifestyle, not just a fad diet. I have always thought that Weight Watchers was for fat old ladies, not for me, but now it is time to swallow my pride and get support. Several of the ladies in my new ward go to WW. I should try to go to the same meeting and get to know them better. Wish me luck!
